The Route

The action starts at Hesters Way Park by Princess Elizabeth Way as the crowds welcome Jesus, riding on a donkey, into Jerusalem. At the far end of the park, the Listening Stones form the set for the Garden of Gethsemane. We follow Jesus, under arrest, to GlosCol concourse which hosts Caiaphas’ House with an aside area for the courtyard. A short walk across to the Oasis carpark brings us to the court of the Roman Governor, Pilate. Jesus is then led across the road to Edinburgh Place for the scene of the crucifixion. Finally, we head back across Princess Elizabeth Way to the site of St Aidan’s Church for the burial scene.

The route is generally accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, although the final scene at St Aidan’s requires a push across rough, grassy land.
